Art in all its forms is rooted in human experience and the stories we tell. Philbrook’s current exhibition, Wall Flowers: Patrick Gordon Paintings, showcases portraits of people that are alive with distinct personalities, humor, and private references. In this installment of our popular concert series, select paintings from the exhibition will be juxtaposed with musical portraits and scenes from the playfulness of Janácek’s Youth to the pastoral landscapes of Copland and Beach, to moments of wit among friends with Poulenc and Beethoven. Join musicologist and classical radio host Jason Heilman and Philbrook curator Susan Green in this engaging program of music and storytelling. VIP tickets include an exclusive pre-concert performance and reception with Patrick Gordon at 1:30 pm.
