Join us at the Philbrook Museum for a special community screening of the documentary feature film “Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool”. This program will bring together Tulsa-based artists, emerging filmmakers, students, and community members for an evening centered on storytelling, representation, and creative career pathways.

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A conversation with director Amy Scott, moderated by Tulsa Artist Fellow and filmmaker Loren Waters. The discussion will explore Scott’s journey growing up in Tulsa, her path into directing high-profile music documentaries, and her experience working with country music artist Lainey Wilson. Special emphasis will be placed on navigating the film industry as a woman, the power of authentic storytelling, and the importance of staying rooted in one’s identity while building a creative career.

The film follows Wilson as she redefines the modern country star, proving that staying true to yourself can lead to major success. Paired with the post-screening conversation, the program offers both artistic inspiration and practical insight into the filmmaking process.

This event is designed to serve Tulsa’s creative community by providing direct access to an accomplished director with local roots. By hosting this program in a community-centered venue, the goal is to create an accessible, inspiring space that fosters dialogue, encourages artistic growth, and highlights pathways for local storytellers to see themselves reflected in the industry.”
