Philbrook en plein air
In 1987, a group of artists met at a painting workshop in Taos, New Mexico. These artists, all with roots in Oklahoma, banded together to create the Oklahoma Society of Impressionists (OSI). The group celebrates the tradition of painting en plein air, or outdoors, which was popularized by the nineteenth-century Impressionists, including Camille Pissarro.
In conjunction with the exhibition Innovative Impressions, OSI members will paint en plein air in the Philbrook Gardens June 11 – 15 and exhibit their work in the Mezzanine Gallery June 22 – July 8, 2018.
Participating Artists:
Diane Ainsworth, Nick Berry, Jim Bruce, Claudia Kates Doyle, Jody Ellison, Mary Anna Goetz, Joan M. LaRue, Jay O’Meilia, Bruce Peil, Derek Penix, Carla Perry
