Andy Warhol was the star of this popular exhibition, which included many of his portraits of Marilyn Monroe and other celebrities, the electric chair, camouflage patterning, flowers, sunsets, and more. Pop artist, influential printmaker and American art icon, Warhol found inspiration in the confluence of artistic expression and celebrity culture. Complementing Warhol’s work were prints by such notable contemporary artists as Richard Diebenkorn, Chuck Close, Edward Ruscha, and Keith Haring. The collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer exceeds 10,000 works and includes many of today’s most important contemporary artists. It is the nation’s largest private print collection.
