Philbrook
Feb 24, 2017 - Nov 05, 2017
Minneapolis-based Eric Rieger, the artist known as HOTTEA, created the inaugural installation of the Rotunda Art Project. Known for spinning large, colorful “yarn bombs” to kaleidoscopic effect, HOTTEA employed miles of yarn—7500 strands in 83 colors—to hang an inverted pyramid in the Rotunda, from a grid at Mezzanine level to a point six feet off the floor. (He followed the Philbrook project with a similar installation at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Designed to inspire awe and wonder with color and scale, oddnumbers unveiled a more playful side of Philbrook.
