Philbrook Museum of Art welcomes adult volunteers of all ages in the following capacities:

Collections Assistant – Assist with collection management projects and provide curatorial department assistance as needed. Tasks range from general office work and data entry to object documentation and handling. Please contact the Collections staff.

Education Department Volunteer– Variety of tasks which assist in the facilitation of general office duties, interpretive programs, and studio classes. Office skills and classroom or museum education experiences are valued, not essential, and training is available. Please contact the Education Staff.

Exhibitions Assistant – Assist the preparatory staff with a variety of duties as needed, such as fabrication and construction of exhibition areas, general maintenance, monitoring environmental conditions, sewing, materials inventory and organization. Please contact the preparatory staff.

Gardens Volunteer – Work alongside Philbrook garden staff in tasks such as watering, planting, weeding, deadheading, and other general plant maintenance. Evening and weekend event assistance in the gardens is also available for those who cannot work during the week. Please contact the Garden Manager.

Guest Experience – Join the Philbrook Guest Experience Team and work alongside staff welcoming museum visitors and assisting guests with the highest level of customer service.  Tasks include welcoming guests, answering phones, assist with building way-finding (galleries, restrooms) and providing general knowledge of the galleries, programs, and working our special events.  Opportunities available at the main campus and Philbrook Downtown- weekdays, nights and weekends.  Contact the Guest Experience Staff.

Library Volunteer - Assist in the on-going maintenance of the vertical files, periodicals, book and slide collections, and archives, as well as special one-time projects as needed. Please contact the Librarian.

Museum Membership Volunteer – Provide membership and museum information to visitors by staffing membership information desk during high traffic times (weekends, some Fridays or Thursday evenings). Please contact the Membership Specialist.

Museum Docent – Provide guided tours to students and visitors to Philbrook. Training half-day weekly for 27 weeks, September through May. Also facilitate outreach programs to area schools and organizations, research special exhibitions, mentor docent interns. Please contact the Museum Education Coordinator.
