This class is part of the Stay Gold Sessions, a series of art and nature-inspired workshops for older adults ages 55+.
They say the best camera is the one in your hand. Smartphones now make fine art photography more accessible than ever with powerful cameras to rival some of the most sophisticated professional gear. This class will empower you with the technical skills to take your photographs to the next level. Study composition, lighting, storytelling, and more with Anitra Lavanhar. Discover a deepened appreciation for your surroundings as you train your eye to see the world from a new perspective. Your newfound skills will allow you to capture travel memories, take pictures of family, grandchildren, or simply enjoy the process of photographing flowers, landscapes, architecture and street scenes. In addition, you’ll explore creative self-portraiture and a variety of experimental techniques. The only supply you need to bring is likely already in your pocket: a smartphone!
No artistic experience is necessary.
About the Artist
Anitra Lavanhar is an award-winning “anthro-photographer” combining backgrounds in art and anthropology, fueled by a lifelong curiosity of the world around her, the people in it, and their stories. From wide-angle landscapes and architectural scenes, to the close-up details captured with a macro lens, her goal is to compose a thought provoking and inspiring frame. Lavanhar’s dynamic street photography and creative portraiture is featured in exhibits, private collections, and commercial projects. Her workshops and walking tours are a signature offering, equipping her students with the confidence to fearlessly explore their creative horizons.
