Artist and community advocate Alexander Tamahn has been spending the last year painstakingly restoring the Art Deco façade of the Adams Building by hand. Attendees will have the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour and learn what it takes to restore a historic building from the artist who has made it happen.
Attendees will meet at Philbrook (2727 S. Rockford) where they will have the opportunity to view original Philbrook Villa blueprints of architectural features from the same era and enjoy a conversation with Alexander Tamahn and Susan Green, Philbrook’s Associate Curators of Special Collections, Archives, and Research. Once the conversation concludes, participants will caravan in their own vehicles to the Adams Building. Alexander will then give participants a behind-the-scenes look at the restoration of one of Tulsa’s Art Deco treasures.
This event is part of Philbrook’s Where Artist Work Series, a series where Philbrook collaborates with artists to share their practice with the community.
