Islam and American Muslims have been, and continue to be, important threads in the fabric of American life. Hear Dr. Amir Hussain (Loyola Marymount University) share more of this history, from Muslims who fought in the Civil War to cultural icon and legend Muhammad Ali. The lecture will be followed by a question and answer session moderated by Susan Green, coordinating curator for the exhibition Wondrous Worlds: Art & Islam through Time & Place.
The Museum Shop will have copies of Dr. Hussain’s book, Muslims and the Making of America, available for purchase. A reception and cash bar will follow the program.
