Join us for a scintillating conversation exploring the confluence of speed, industry, the pleasures of leisure, and labor as it intersects with Making Modern America. This exploration of art, the modern era, and culture is moderated by Sean Latham, Director of the Walter Endowed Chair of English and the Oklahoma Center for the Humanities at the University of Tulsa. Panelists include Enda Duffy the Arnhold Presidential Department Chair of the Department of English at the University of California at Santa Barbara and award-winning author of The Speed Handbook, artist Tom Joyce who is one of three McArthur Genius recipients from Oklahoma, and Catherine Whitney the curator of Making Modern America and Philbrook Chief Curator.
