NEW THIS YEAR: Both Members & Not-Yet-Members welcome!

Homeschool art experiences at Philbrook are specifically designed to provide opportunities for social interaction and to foster creative experimentation and making. Each month builds on concepts explored in previous sessions; however, classes are structured as individual units so that students may join at any time without needing any previous curriculum to participate fully.

Art and Nature come together this spring! We will fuse art and science this semester by focusing on the art of nature and exploring ecological processes on our grounds through art-making. Students will get opportunities to experience the art of cultivation first hand by planting and caring for their own space in the Philbrook gardens. We will also create artwork using natural objects and techniques derived from nature. Join us this semester, and bridge art and nature in our expansive gardens, while fostering valuable critical thinking skills such as flexible thinking, collaboration, risk-taking, and playful experimentation through creative exploration.

The Teaching Artist: Katy Bruce
Katy Bruce is an artist who was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. Creating art since she was a very young child, art has always guided her life. Katy has been a jeweler for the past 7 years using wire and gemstones. She loves children and enjoys teaching child-led workshops at Philbrook and at Honeybee Schoolhouse. She also plans events and art shows in the Downtown Tulsa artist community.
