Incorporate some mirror magic into your self-expression! In this daylong workshop, teens will design and laser cut their own shapes that will be used to generate a custom mirror.  After laser cutting, they will complete their work by adorning their creation with charms and beads.

About the Teaching Artist: Sierra Kramer

Sierra Kramer (she/they) is a queer, multidisciplinary artist based on Mvskoke (Muscogee [Creek]) Nation Reservation. They seek an understanding of this privilege and give thanks daily for the opportunity to be in connection with these lands. They work predominantly in digital drawing and painting and are currently exploring laser cutting and engraving. Sierra is best known for their art-based early childhood program, Honeybee Schoolhouse, located near Downtown Tulsa. Sierra’s work examines ideas of generational healing, matriarchal brilliance, body-love and body-loathing, and our belonging in the (un)natural world. Their work can be viewed as diaristic as it is based on personal experience.

What to Expect
Our teen workshops start in our studios, but we quickly use the whole museum: art, gardens, etc. to explore what it means to be a creative thinker and maker. Our workshops are geared towards getting messy, working together and making space for every teen’s ideas.

Here are a few things to know:

1. We offer Before and After Care.**
2. Teens must bring their own lunch, free of peanut products.
3. We use the whole museum, which means we spend ample time outside when the weather permits.
4. Your day at Philbrook will be filled with creative energy and fun! Please make sure to dress for mess and outdoor exploration.

**Before & After Care
Before & After Care is offered as a package for the camp week for an additional $10 per teen. With the addition of Before & After Care to your ticket, you may drop your teen off as early as 7:45am, and pick your teen up at the end of the day between 4:00pm and 5:30pm.
