Draw Like an Egyptian

Paint the Gardens
Teaching Artist: Kathleen Pendergrass
Love nature? Learn to draw and paint objects from nature with the beautiful gardens as your inspiration.

Sculpture Teaching Artists: Kathleen Pendergrass , Virginia Harrison Create dynamic 3-dimensional works of art using found objects, paper mache, and clay.

Instructor Bios

Rhonda Davis holds a B.A. in art history and an M.A. in art from the University of Tulsa and currently teaches at Tulsa Community College. She paints in acrylic and draws in a variety of media focusing on figures and still life.

Kelly Foshee is a printmaker who has taught students of all ages. She graduated with her M.F.A. from the University of Tulsa and has been showcased in exhibitions across the country. Currently Kelly teaches art at the Tulsa School of Arts and Sciences.

Virginia Harrison received her M.A. in sculpture from New York University after earning a B.A. in visual arts from Bennington College. She has shown her work in numerous solo exhibitions since 1984.

Kathleen Pendergrass spent ten years as supervisor of Johnson Atelier Fine Arts Facility. Her focus areas are pottery, handmade paper and fiber arts.

Jen Raybourn holds a degree in art education from Oklahoma State University. She has taught at the Oklahoma City Arts Institute and at Philbrook in a variety of subjects from painting to sculpture to jewelry.

Sally Fowler-Haughey is an early childhood specialist and Bixby Elementary School teacher, as well as a practicing artist in painting, multi-media and fiber arts.

Talitha Gregg graduated from Oklahoma State University with a major in psychology and a minor in studio art and is teaching at Broken Arrow Middle School.

Kath Gordon has been the art teacher of Jenks West Elementary School since 1988. She is a master artist for the Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa’s Harwelden Institute.

Mary Jane Porter is a skilled painter, whose work is exhibited nationwide. She teaches at NSU and holds a M.A. from the University of Tulsa.

Andrea Wamble comes to Philbrook from Dallas where she was the Creative Director of accredited art school Art-A-Rama.

Connie Stark Doak graduated from West Texas State University (now West Texas State A & M) with a B.S. in Art Education and a minor in history. She served five years as a middle school art instructor and department head at Western Heights Middle School (OKC), before co-owning and managing Sylvan Learning Center of Tulsa in 1984.
